My family and I went here for dinner while on vacation, and it was fantastic! My husband had the Tres Amigos tacos and loved them! Food came out fast, large menu. Friendly service, highly recommend. We will be back!

Great food everything five stars except the king crab the guy over cooked but they took care of it

Great food and even better service. If your lucky enough to have Luke as your server, your in for a good time!!

I was so happy to find this place as being from Houston, I didn't think I would be able to quench my taste for perfectly seasoned crab and shrimp in San Diego. Pleasantly surprised! Will definitely visit again. Service was just okay. The restaurant was pretty busy that night.

Cool place to grab some good seafood or other items such as the skirt steak, great for a date night. Middle of of the Gas Lamp District would definitely recommend couples.

Great service! Our waiter Luke was very personable and made sure we were taken care of.

Friendly staff, didn't have to wait long for food even though the place was packed. Great salsa bar. The lobster mac and cheese was phenomenal!

This is no doubt one of the most pleasant restaurants in the region. Always when I come there I am awfully satisfied. They always keep their high standard service and the topmost level of meals they provide. You always win with this restaurant. Highly recommended.

Try the sliders! Great selection of beer. Walking distance to the convention center.

Their blackened fish tacos are fried, not grilled... makes no sense. Either way trying to get FRESH grilled fish tacos in the Gaslamp, is a lot harder than it should be. Many fslslt advertise grilled on their menu, but actually serve you fried. Awkward for seatown

Our waiter Chris was nice and cool but the food just wasn't anything to write home about. I ordered the rib eye tacos. Conveniently located next to the convention center but I wouldn't return. Sorry RBL but your food needs improvement.

Fun atmosphere. Decent food. Had lobster tacos. Sauce was a little too sweet for my taste, but good
Melissa Taulbee
Okay atmosphere Uber price and the seafood what's small portions literally in my lobster tail looks like shrimp

Staff are very courteous and the food came out quick at our time here mid-afternoon on a weekday. Seafood enchiladas, Tres Amigos, and Tequila lime shrimp. All good dishes and presentable, all came warm or better. The enchiladas were stuffed with seafood like shrimp and lobster, no fillers here. My wife loved the three tacos, one is steak the other two seafood. The highlight was the tequila shrimp and tangy buttery sauce they swam in, the lead chef should consider adding more bread to it, two pieces is not enough to clean up the plate. We spent about $70 for two.

The Rocky's Bowl was amazing! Service is always good here and the food is consistently great!

Decent bar food, happy hour is really good deal. All you want chips and salsa bar with good variety including mango salsa

Large portions but I thought it was mediocre overall.I came here with a Group of 9 while on a business trip. We ordered large baskets of seafood to share. I ordered the spicy margarita to drink and it was good.Overall the seafood was just ok. I had lobster, crab, chicken and steak- but it was the meats that I thought were best. The baskets were huge though! In total we spent about $80 per person which was reasonable considering all we ate, but I wasn't blown away.

I love this place. Been here and the one in old towne several times. Go to for taco Tuesday for sure! I just got a togo order these tough times when I can't visit inside. Great packaging and everything traveled very well.

Amazing margaritas! We tried the big bucket and it was worth it. Salsa and chips bar is a fantastic bonus. Service was friendly and efficient. All around a wonderful experience and we will absolutely be back!

Awesome, from the food to the service. Loved it!

The rib eye tacos are to die for. I get them every time and they never disappoint.

I ordered the shrimp appetizer and my husband ordered a burrito. The shrimp was okay... did not have the best texture. The burrito was full of beans and not much else. The tortilla was super soggy.

Food was great although the bartender at the time was probably having a bad day because he wasn't the most friendly or attentive, considering we were one of three couples at the bar. The salsa bar, out of this world. The pineapple salsa was the best I've ever had! Magical street corn!

Great restaurant in a great location in the Gaslamp District of San Diego. The entire staff was friendly and attentive, and Jose was our server. We went there on a Thursday night and took advantage of the $39.99 surf and turf special that serves two. This delicious meal consists of lobster tails, grilled steak, grilled chicken, grilled shrimp, roasted corn, beans, rice, tortillas, and the complimentary salsa and chips bar.The meal can easily serve 3 people, as the two of us had plenty of leftovers after shamefully stuffing ourselves.

Food mainly based around seafood. Buckets are made for sharing. Margueritas by the jug are good!

I love the salsa bar and the food has large servings. I tried the taco and there where 3 different versions which were good. It was a slow time of day and thought the service could be better and the server wasn’t that personable. I always judge on how the drink refills are and I was always waiting. I think this place is starting to miss a step. I was impressed the first times I went and it was a alive and vibrant, but it seems that it is becoming complacent.

Fantastic food. Great spices.. Keith was super friendly server. Will go back.

It was overpriced and touristy but we were able to get seated easily with a large party and I actually was impressed by my enchiladas (with impossible meat). Additionally, our server Miguel was excellent!

Great place for mexican food located in the famed Gaslamp district. As you could guess, lobster is their speciality, and they have some good Lobster dishes. They also have a chips buffet with many delicious sauces. The staff is very nice and makes a friendly atmosphere

Very tasty burger with tender patty and crispy fries. Great and friendly people (thanks Angela), amazing tacos and nachos. I highly recommend eating here â¤ï¸

It is a very pleasant and contemporary place with very good and most professional customer focused people

My first time in the gaslamp area. The rockin Baja has excellent food, excellent employees! Just a slightly bit pricey. But no worries because of the atmosphere and location! More than makes up for it!
TheBigBandWolf
We liked the salsa bar and chips. That cilantro, lime, jalapeño, margarita was the best margarita I’ve ever had. So good I gotta figure out how to make it for us at home.

This place is a total tourist scam. Food is way overpriced, lack of flavor, and services mediocre at best. We ordered a seafood with rice plate and what came was undercooked rice with a few pieces of shrimps and some tiny scallops in a puddle of creamy sauce with little flavor. I'm not a big eater but the portion size is just not justifiable for the $21 price tag, you can get much better food somewhere else in town.
Jason Hops
We had a quick drink here last night. Nothing against Rockin Baja lobster, but they offer a basic mainstream experience, and we were looking for something a little more visceral and authentic. The drink was good.It was dead at 7:00 and they were intent on closing down...it screamed touristy

Been here many times and the food is always fantastic. From the serve yourself chip & salsa bar to their tasty apps & mains. The queso has just the right amount of spice, the lobster bisque is full of lobster pieces, the lobster tacos are divine and the margaritas are flavorful. The service is also top notch, even during crazy comic con time where the place is packed - hats off to the staff for providing such an awesome environment even when busy. All in all a really fun, vibrant place to eat.

Popped in to have the obligatory fish tacos upon landing in San Diego. Service was friendly and fast, restaurant had lots of seating and a casual atmosphere. Free chips and salsa bar. It did the job!
ERNESTO GUZMAN
Slow service. The place looks run-downed. Decent food.
oscar medina
Great Chip and Salsa bar! Do not recommend the lobster roll though
Jason Brubaker
Awesome chip bar. Great margaritas. Absolutely fantastic tacos. The end.
Emelie Borello
Great location for people watching and hanging out on a Saturday evening. We shared a pitcher of the Blood Orange Margarita, which was more cost effective than buying them individually, and it was deliciously fruity and the right balance of sweet and sour. The Sweet Corn and Bacon Cheese Dip and Lobster Bites were both yummy. Definitely worth a try. It's a bit pricey overall though, and the service was challenged by it being so busy.
Chris Williams
Good food in the gas lamp district. Servers were friendly. The lobster was not as flavorful as I like which is why it lost a star.
Simone Harms
Cool chips and salsa bar. Great tasting Fish tacos. Service was great as well.

First , we had a great server named HYMIE. Really inquired about where we were from and was able to relate and offer us great suggestions. That means a lot when you're trying to figure out what type of food you want. The food was great he had calamari, fish tacos, blackened fish tacos and lobster bites. All Tasty. Everything tastes fresh like they just got it out the ocean.

Shrimp was good, service good, deal on tacos Tuesday..... great.
Alek Mellen
Had a great conversation with a server about slightly stoopid. Hymie Scott’s the man! And has a sick YouTube channel! Our server was also great, as was the chip bar and margs.

Came here on a Friday night, we were seated and it took someone 20 min to assist us and they were not busy. We had a server names Alecea and she was not that great . Took our food forever to come out and she was was not attentive at all. She apparently was our server the whole time and the first 20 mins we were waiting she was standing around talking. Their was one guy named Hiyme who was very nice and outgoing, he was the one that approached us asking if we have been helped and brought us waters. Everytime he walked by us he always asked if we needed anything, he seemed to be the only person that enjoyed his job. The location is Old town is better and they have better service . Will not be returning to this location, but great job Hiyme!
